Lizzie McGuire is an American comedy television series created by Terri Minsky for Disney Channel. The series premiered as a sneak preview on January 12, 2001 after Zenon: The Zequel a Disney Channel Original movie. Throughout the two season run, a total of 65 episodes were broadcasted.
On May 2, 2003, a theatrical movie of the same name was released during the events of the second season. Additionally, the film serves as a finale for the series. The final episode was released on February 14, 2004.
Summary[]
Enter the world of Lizzie McGuire at your own risk, a world where the 13-year-old and her best friends Miranda and Gordo ride the roller-coaster existence of a middle schooler. Every day is a popularity contest, every class is a crisis and on top of everything else, Lizzie has to deal with her annoying little brother, Matt, and a mom who means well despite her nosey tendencies. You always know what Lizzie is thinking, and if she can't quite say it, you can be sure her animated alter ego will.

- Great acting, especially from Hilary Duff, Lalaine and Adam Lamberg.

- Had special guest stars such as Aaron Carter and Frankie Muniz.
- Extremely likable and relatable characters, especially Lizzie, Miranda, and Gordo.
- Gordo is absolutely hilarious!
- Amazing styles, especially from Lizzie and Miranda. Both of them were early 2000s fashion icons, and many girls were trying to copy their outfits/styles. Talk about inspiration!
- The animated version of Lizzie was a pretty good idea, as if she was to get her animated series.
- The theme song for the intro, "We'll figure it out" is amazing and very creative.
- Passable and heartwarming moments.
- It spawned a film called The Lizzie McGuire Movie, which wrapped up the series well.
- It uses Lizzie's animated consciousness to portray her real feelings in situations where she's too kind to grow a spine, something we can all relate to.
- Animated Lizzie's snarkiness is hilarious and fun to watch, even for those who normally don't like Disney's sitcoms.
- It often caters to both genders by having Lizzie, Miranda and Gordo occupy the main plot while having Matt and the parents hold the B-plot.
- Some people bought Disney+ mainly for this show because they were big fans of it.
Bad Qualities[]
- Some unlikable characters such as Matt and Kate.
- The stereotype of cheerleaders being the most popular in the school is unrealistic (in a bad way).
- Lalaine, the actress who portrayed Miranda, departed the series before it ended to work on other projects. She was not in the last 6 episodes filmed for the series and also failed to appear in the Lizzie McGuire Movie.

- The show was planned to return at Disney+ as a sequel to the original series, with Duff reprising her role. However, it was cancelled in the mid-2020, due to creative differences from the show's creator Terri Minsky.
