Gerald McBoing-Boing is a 1950-1956 animated short series about a little boy who speaks through sound effects instead of spoken words. It was produced by United Productions of America (UPA) and given wide release by Columbia Pictures. It was adapted by Phil Eastman and Bill Scott from a story by Dr. Seuss, directed by Robert Cannon, and produced by John Hubley.

Why it Rocks[]

  1. Likeable characters, like Gerald McCloy.
  2. Decent voice acting.
  3. The animation is okay.
  4. Great soundtrack by Gail Kubik.
  5. Lots of funny jokes and funny moments.
  6. Marvin Miller did the very awesome job narrating the short films.
  7. "He didn't talk words, he went boing-boing instead."

Bad Qualities[]

  1. The idea of a young boy talking through sound effects instead of spoken words looks kinda weird.
  2. Some bad jokes.
  3. The infamous 2005-2007 television series.
