"♫ When you want somebody gone and you don’t wanna wait too long, call the Immediate Murder Professionals! ♫ "
Helluva Boss is an American adult comedy/musical animated web series created by VivziePop and spin-off show of the Hazbin Hotel franchise.
Plot[]
In Hell, Imps are the lowest of the low in society, but what happens when one starts an assassin business? This happens! Follow Blitzo (the 'o' is silent) as he attempts to run a start-up killing company in a very competitive market, along with his weapons specialist, Moxxie, his powerhouse, Millie, and his receptionist Hellhound, Loona. With the help of an ancient book obtained by one of the princes of Hell, Stolas, they manage to make their work possible and together they attempt to survive each other while trying to keep their business afloat.
Good Qualities[]
- The characters are well-written and entertaining to watch.
- Blitzo, who is the owner of I.M.P, is very career-focused. He is deeply committed to the company's success and is willing to make significant personal sacrifices to ensure it.
- Moxxie is the easily annoyed, clusmy, but nice imp. He is the I.M.P's weapon specialist, so he knows his way around weapons and frequently brings a variety of them with him on missions. Due to Season 2 Episode's 3 episode, Exes and Oohs (Helluva Boss), we may know why he has so much knowledge about weapons.
- Despite her occasional rudeness, Loona cares deeply about Blitzo and is nicer to him (which is saying a lot), which makes sense given that he is Loona's adoptive father.
- Millie, despite being the least developed one, can still be entertaining to watch at times, especially with her fight scenes.
- Stolas is a character who has improved from the pilot. He went from being horny 24/7 to a well-adjusted and grounded character, and Season 2 helped a lot with fixing this problem.
- Great episodes, including Exes and Oohs and The Circus.
- Exes and Oohs involves Moxxie meeting his abusive dad and mafia. On the way, he also meets Chaz, who is his ex (along with Millie's).
- In The Circus, we get to see more of Blitzo and Stolas' backstory and how they met. Oh yeah, and Fizzarolli is there, too.
- The character designs are nice/decent.
- The animation is incredible, to the point of outperforming/rivalling several non-indie series.
- The voice actors do an amazing job, like with Richard Horvitz. He also voiced Zim from Invader Zim and Billy from The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy.
- Very funny quotes throughout the series.
- "Why hello, my big-dicked Blitzy..." - Stolas, Blitzo spits out his coffee after hearing this.
- Cultural references that are nice and aren't in your face.
- The plots are interesting and neat, for the most part.
Bad Qualities[]
- Millie is the least developed of all I.M.P. Without Moxxie, she really doesn't have a character outside of that. Many fans pointed this out and wish for more centered episodes about her.
- Loona is mean-spirited and a psycho at times.
- That one scene where she Kicked Blitzo. Really? Calm down, Loona!
- The show can seem too focus on Blitzo and Stolas sometimes.
- Season 1 Episode 4 might be the weakest of all episodes.
- While we did say some jokes were funny, there are some misses as well.
- Too many sexual/adult jokes, for example.
- Speaking of sexual jokes, Chaz does a lot of sexual jokes about his dick, which can be annoying at times.
- Season 2 is generally agreed to be weaker than season 1 due to its more decisive writing, repeated use of same jokes and still a lack of worldbuilding
